Choosing the best menu
If necessary, a menu that caters for all the attendee’s food preferences is imperative, we would want all the guests who attend the event to be satisfied with the food provided.
Special considerations to take note of when selecting a menu are:
• Does it fall within the budget?
• Does anyone have food allergies?
• Are there any vegetarians or vegans?
• How many courses will be served?
• Are the required foods in season?
All these must be considered otherwise it could result in the people being dissatisfied and potentially giving the event a bad review and subsequently cause some damage to either the events company or client’s reputation.
Managing the attendees
Noting who and who isn’t attending the event will help the event planner find the correct venue, vendors as well as help them utilise the budget in a more effective manner.
Therefore, it is important to follow up on all invitations which have not been acknowledged by the attendees and thereafter provide the number of people attending the event. With that being said, special care should be taken when inviting honorary guests.
This should be done before the event planner can make informed decisions.
As you should have gathered, an events manager must be committed and willing to do everything in their power to make the assigned project the most memorable experience and within all the budgeted and time constraints.
